"For me, it's just a characteristic, like my opinion of myself is just, I'm a guy that sometimes dresses as masculine and sometimes dresses feminine."

What do you think gender expressions should be like?

"I think it depends on people like different people have different backgrounds and stories of their lives."

Zaq is a 21-year-old diploma student. They currently work part-time as a beauty advisor at Sephora while studying for their diploma. They remember being interested in makeup at a young age of 13, inspired by makeup gurus from youtube. The first makeup product they got was a cheap palette that they saved their pocket money for (the struggle of most young creatives) to buy from Guardian, which lasted for about 2 years. Zaq has come a long way from saving up money to buy their first palette to becoming a beauty advisor where people come to ask for makeup advise.

Zaq believes that masculinity is about being assertive and being a leader. Though Zaq embraces their feminine side as it is part of their identity They mentioned only feeling comfortable with this side of themself in front of their friends, while they only show their masculine side to their parents.
